Maureen Denise McCormick was born on August 5 1956 in Woodland Hills California the youngest and only daughter of Richard McCormick and Irene McCormick. Her father worked as an elementary school teacher, and her mother as a stay at home mom. Michael Dennis Kevin is her three elder siblings. McCormick began singing and performing from a young age. In the year she turned 6, McCormick won at the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest. Pat Domigan from the Jack Wormser Agency then called McCormick to inquire whether the actress was looking to pursue a career in showbusiness. McCormick's first job as a professional was in 1964, which was when she appeared in a TV commercial for Mattels new Baby Pattaburp doll. In the following year, she starred in another commercial for Mattels Chatty Cathy doll and was later cast in the show Wind It Up And It Breaks on stage at La Jolla Playhouse. The Brady Bunch McCormick's audition was among 1200 other children for the part of the eldest towheaded daughter in The Brady Bunch. The sitcom featured Florence Henderson and Robert Reed, newlyweds who had the same family as a blended one. The show ran for five years. In her autobiography Heres the Story: Surviving Marcia Brady and Finding My True Voice released in 2008, McCormick admitted that in the shows fifth season she was close to losing her virginity due to her onscreen co-star and brother Barry Williams. We would've had a romance, she said. However, the timing was not just right.
